MPK sponsors James with his Camps International Expedition

We are proud to be sponsoring a local student, James with his travels to Kenya as part of Camps International's expedition. We are delighted to support the youth of today and encourage young people to follow their dreams. James will be holding many fundraising events in the coming months before his trip to Kenya in 2024, we will keep you posted throughout his journey.

A few words from James...

'I am delighted that Morgan Payne & Knightley are kindly sponsoring me to attend Camps International’s Kenya 2024 expedition!

Kenya 2024 is a 4-week expedition to volunteer on community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. I will work on projects to raise educational standards, improve the living standards of local communities and assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats. The expedition is organised by Camps International a social enterprise with philanthropic aims alongside my school, Wrekin College.

I am really excited about Kenya 2024 – and quite nervous too! I hope the experience will help me to grow in maturity and build my international cultural understanding. I am keen to bring any new skills and outlook learnt from this incredible challenge to my established volunteering activities at school, and as a local Scout Young Leader, when I get back.

I am hugely grateful to Morgan Payne and Knightly for their support. I am also doing lots of other fundraising activities – like Quiz Nights and a 2-day sponsored hike!'

Pop-Up-Pub fundraiser for Kenya 2024

As well as Morgan Payne & Knightley’s amazing sponsorship support for my Kenya 2024 volunteering expedition with Camps International, I also need to run lots of fundraising events.

Last weekend, my family held a Pop-Up-Pub at our home. We invited all our local friends and neighbours to come along. We re-named our house “The Castle Inn” and my parents ran the ‘bar’ where we sold drinks and snacks. We also ran a very popular raffle! It was a resounding success! It was amazing to see people from our community come together and enjoy a few drinks and a catch up. I was proud to wear Morgan Payne & Knightley’s logo on my t-shirt all evening, and to spend time explaining to people about their support and the trip.

It was a great night and I was really touched by everyone’s kindness in helping me raise funds for Kenya 2024, a 4-week expedition with Camps International to volunteer on community, environmental and wildlife projects. I am excited - and nervous – about this huge challenge!
